Jargon fills our life everyday with 'techno babble' to 'planning speak'
and other complicated phrases or abbreviations that are simply designed for
'people in the know'.
In most cases this is their way of communicating efficiently within their
own sphere.
Sometimes it is used to deviate and confuse others (usually customers) away
from the real issues in an effort to limit liability or lower standards.
We need a central source for this jargon that we can refer to in times of
need in order to better understand what is actually being said or proposed
by industry, the professions or government for example.
This central jargon buster directory will never be complete as new jargon
is being created all the time but, with your help, we can keep adding to
this database in an effort to track and record most jargon being used - past
and present.
Some of our categorised jargon busting material is very common and prevalent
in todays society. Other jargon buster categories can be very niche specific
and may hardly be used by anyone.
It is only with your help that we can add to and maintain this database.
